Poornima earned her physician assistant certificate from Malcolm X College and her Masters of Medical Science in Physician Assistant Studies from St. Francis University. She is board certified by the National Commission for Certification of Physician Assistants. Poornima received her M.B.B.S. (Bachelor of Medicine, Bachelor of Surgery) from B.J. Medical College, Pune University in India.
With over 11 years of experience treating chronic and acute pain, Poornima is an experienced Physician Assistant dedicated to helping patients improve their quality of life. Poornima believes in compassionate care and listening to her patients. She appreciates the importance of patient education. She believes that the best way to manage chronic pain is by using a multimodal, balanced approach. This may involve interventional pain procedures, physical therapy, psychotherapy, diet and exercise modifications, meditation, stretching and breathing exercises.
Poornima earned a medical degree in India and is now a U.S. citizen. After raising her family, she passionately pursued her career as a Physician Assistant where she finds professional fulfillment helping those suffering from pain.
